This is a hands-on role requiring experience managing substantial production budgets, high production values, complex stakeholders, and fast-paced delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Producers and oversee the day-to-day management of the project from planning and budgeting through to delivery and financial close-out.
A key part of the role will be appointing and managing a turnkey production delivery company. Candidates must be confident maintaining client-side control of scope, cost, schedule, approvals, quality, and risk while working constructively with an external delivery partner.
Key responsibilities
- Report to the Executive Producers and the commercial client.
- Lead the day-to-day planning and delivery of the production.
- Maintain the production budget, cashflow, cost reports, critical path, risk register, and approvals schedule.
- Oversee scope, procurement, contracting, variations, costs, deadlines, and delivery standards.
- Coordinate the client, creative team, venue, suppliers, professional advisers, and production personnel.
- Manage venue negotiations, production logistics, contracting, compliance, and operational delivery.
- Lead production meetings and provide clear reporting to the Executive Producers and client.
- Coordinate final reconciliation and production close-out.
About you
You will have:
- Significant experience as a General Manager, Production Executive, or in a comparable live-production role.
- Experience delivering commercial theatre, live entertainment, experiential work, brand activations, or technically complex live events.
- Direct experience working with turnkey production delivery companies.
- Experience managing substantial, preferably seven-figure, production budgets.
- Experience with A-list talent and agents, deal negotiation, and closing.
- Strong budgeting, cost-control, procurement, contracting, and change-management skills.
- The ability to deliver high production values within compressed schedules.
- Confidence working with clients, creatives, venues, suppliers, lawyers, accountants, and commercial stakeholders.
- Excellent organisation, communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
- The judgement to identify problems early, challenge incomplete assumptions, and keep delivery moving.
This must be the successful candidate's principal professional commitment during the engagement. Regular in-person attendance in London will be required, together with flexibility around production meetings, venue access, rehearsals, and performances.
